It's been so hot here in Australia at the moment. Although I feel that I have no right to complain of the heat, when many people have lost their homes to bush fires. I am just thankful that we have remained safe, and that we don't live in a high-risk area.
Anyway, on to cheerier things. I'm joining in the lovely Small Things Yarn Along again today.
Due to the heat, I've only been getting a teeny tiny bit of knitting done, at night when it finally cools off. My mitred blanket is growing nicely, and I've been re-reading my Border Collie book. Rilla is so smart - I'm running out of tricks to teach her! Hence she is going to be trained up for Obedience Trialling. I'm really excited at the prospect of being able to Trial her by the end of the year. I know she'll be able to do it, but whether or not I fold under the pressure of the Judging Ring is another matter. We'll just have to see how we go.
I've also been looking through a Chicken Coop book. There are some interesting designs for hen houses in there - some practical and others just plain cute! We're planning on giving the Silkies a new house. Their Lake House is sweet, but not the best type of accommodation - it's certainly not cyclone proof - a threat more real to us than bush fires, I'm afraid. So, we now have the pleasure of selecting a design for them. A fun process indeed!

Is it hot or cold at your home lately? I love curling up and knitting on a cold day - here we are only half way through Summer and I'm wishing for Winter again!
Please stay safe from crazy weather, where ever you may be.

That blanket looks so cosy!
ReplyDeleteI'm completely loving your yarn - it's so pretty. Here in England it's -9 degrees at the moment. It's sooo cold!

I love knitting too but I think it's a little too hot now to knit...
ReplyDeleteOh lovely blanket! I'm another one sitting here freezing in the UK...
ReplyDeletePretty blanket. I admire your enthusiasm for this type of project in the heat.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been close to perfect for me this summer, with the hot days coming just once a week! Of course living near the water means sea breezes consistently cool the nights for comfortable sleeping.
I'm glad you've been safe from the fire. We've only seen a little of it on our news here in the US/California but it sounds like it's been pretty bad. We're in the middle of winter here and had quite a cold snap for over a week. But, it's back in the 70's this week. Ahhh! I love your blanket. It's so pretty. I like how you've made sure the colors work out similar in each one. That's one of my favorite kinds of yarn, Sugar N Cream. And, the pink and white is so pretty! I just popped over here from the blog party. I'm enjoying your blog. :-)
